Application

Our nickel analyzer from the HMA series, like the other devices in this line, impresses with its automatic functions such as self-backflushing, self-cleaning, and self-calibration. The HMA-TNI nickel concentration measuring device is characterized by low consumption of measuring reagents and also produces little wastewater (only 1.1 liters per month). As a result, it requires low maintenance during operation and is also easy to operate interactively via the LCD touch display. It measures total nickel through a colorimetric determination.

Additional Information: Measurement Method

For the analysis, the absorption photometry method with dimethylglyoxime is used. The sample is pumped into the high-temperature digestion unit and the digestion reagent is added. Subsequently, the total nickel is broken down into dissolved Ni-ion. An oxidizing reagent and an alkaline dimethylglyoxime solution are added to the reaction cell. Then Ni-ions react with dimethylglyoxime to form an orange-brown complex. The concentration of total nickel is calculated by the nickel measuring device based on the absorption at 470 nm.
