Application
The OF - 1600 alarm device is designed for detecting oil traces on the surface of still or calmly flowing water. The device is installed above the water surface with a distance of approximately 0.5 m to 1.0 m from the device. This device detects all oil traces on a calm water surface, making it suitable for various applications, from fish farms to treatment plants and water collection points. The light beam from a long-lasting LED light source is reflected on the water surface, and the intensity of this reflected light beam is measured with a highly sensitive sensor. As the intensity of this light beam is kept constant, the reflection from the water surface is also constant. The reflection value depends on the respective ratio of the two refractive indices, air/water; and in case of oil contamination, air/oil.
