ODL-1600A Oil on Water Detector
In a variety of industrial plants, power stations, public wastewater collection basins, sewage treatment plants, airports, drinking water reservoirs, lakes, and rivers, water contamination with oils or hydrocarbons in general poses a latent threat to health, groundwater, and the environment. The oil warning device ODL-1600A offers an error-free and cost-effective method to detect these various types of contamination on the water surface at an early stage, so that appropriate countermeasures can be taken in time. The measurement is carried out without sampling directly on the water surface by measuring the intensity of a pulsed reflected laser beam with a wavelength of 400 to 700 nm. The laser beam scans an adjustable area. The oil warning device ODL-1600A is mounted between 0.3 m and 4.0 m above the water surface so that the light beam hits the water surface perpendicularly. Since the device has protection class IP 65, it can be easily installed outdoors under a simple protective roof. Two detectors can be connected to the new measurement amplifier of the ODL-1600A.
