Application
The suspended solids analyzer SSD-1610 detects even the smallest amounts of dissolved solids and suspended particles in water. The piston detector is operated by a small motor and continuously self-cleans during measurement operation. A small cylinder sucks in the sample water and simultaneously cleans the optical cell. As the measuring cell continuously self-monitors, interfering scattered light influences are automatically compensated. The sensor system and IR LED are extremely durable and robust.
The measuring principle is based on an optical measurement system. Water without suspended solids is transparent. Water with suspended solids is opaque. Since the opacity is proportional to the amount of dissolved suspended solids, the suspended solids concentration can be determined by the change in light intensity.
Due to its sensitivity, the SSD-1610 is particularly suitable for drinking water and industrial water treatment. While the SSD-1620 is also suitable for applications with medium concentration.
