The TUF 1690 turbidity meter and turbidity analyzer is based on the reflected scattered light measurement method. For this purpose, water is directed into a measuring tank and deaerated. The sample water is then guided past an optical system consisting of an LED and a light-sensitive sensor.
Particles in the water reflect light, which then reaches the reflection sensor mounted at a 90-degree angle to the emitting diode. The reflected light is converted into an electrical signal. The intensity of the reflected light is proportional to the amount of particles present in the water.
The Turbidity Meter in Application
Turbidity meters are indispensable in many industries. In water and wastewater treatment, they monitor water quality, while in the food and beverage industry, they ensure the clarity and purity of products such as beer and juice. In the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, they ensure the consistency and purity of liquids. The milk and dairy industry uses them to detect contamination. They are also essential for quality control and safety in the oil and gas industry as well as in environmental monitoring.
