    Laser-Based Oil-on-Water Detectors

    A non-contact oil warning technology works on the principle of refraction change. When a laser beam is projected onto a water surface, it reflects with a certain intensity. Oils and hydrocarbons reflect much more strongly. This allows for reliable detection of layer thicknesses as thin as 0.1 micrometers, invisible to the eye and nearly impossible for floating devices due to their measurement principle. This measurement principle represents cutting-edge technology for oil warning systems and measuring devices.

    With the ODL 1600A oil warning system and oil-on-water detector, we offer a laser-based oil warning measurement technology that can monitor water surfaces in the most complex situations. Fluctuating fill levels, flow velocities, and solids can be compensated to avoid false alarms. And all this up to a distance of 4 meters from the water surface.

    ODL 1610A and OF 1600

    For even more complex applications, the ODL 1610A is suitable. With its special laser optics, it can be mounted up to 10 meters above the water surface, enabling perfect deployment even in difficult situations where no other access can be created.

    The OF 1600 is the specialist for small and close-to-water monitoring. Unlike its larger counterparts, it works with a UV diode. It is therefore smaller and not as insensitive to complex measurement conditions, but is excellently suited for use in confined environments or complex indoor conditions.
