HMA-TCU

Total Copper Analyzer

Concentration measuring device for copper in water. Analyzer with automatic cleaning for total copper.
Measuring Range: 0.1 - 10mg/L

Application

HMA-TCU: Total Copper Measuring Device for Industrial Wastewater Analysis

The HMA-TCU is a compact total copper measuring device for continuous online monitoring of copper in process and industrial wastewater. The measurement is performed photometrically using the bathocuproine reaction at 470 nm and provides precise real-time data.

With a measuring range of 0.1 to 10 mg/L and a resolution of 0.025 mg/L, the copper analyzer detects even the slightest concentration fluctuations. An automatic dilution ensures reliable results, regardless of the initial value.

Due to automatic calibration, an integrated sample filter, and low reagent consumption, maintenance requirements are minimal. The waste amount is only 1.1 liters per month.

Flexible Integration for Various Industries

The HMA-TCU is used in electroplating, metal processing, semiconductor industry, water treatment, and chemical industry. It reliably monitors even the smallest amounts of copper that can be critical in sensitive production processes.

Thanks to its compact design (600 × 255 × 900 mm) and common interfaces, the copper analyzer can be easily integrated into existing systems – ideal for companies with the highest demands on precision, efficiency, and environmental compatibility.

Additional Information:
Bathocuproin Measurement Method
The HMA-TCU copper in water analyzer uses the bathocuproin method. It is a colorimetric analysis method for determining copper in a solution. The sample is pumped into the high-temperature digestion unit and the digestion reagent is added. This process breaks down all copper into dissolved Cu-ions. Subsequently, the heavy metal analyzer adds a reducing agent to allow the Cu-ion to react with bathocuproin.
The copper concentration can be calculated by the absorption at 470 nm. The intensity of the color is proportional to the copper concentration in the solution.
Advantages of the Method
This method offers a fast and sensitive way to determine copper. The total copper measuring device is frequently used in various fields such as environmental analytics, food and beverage industry, as well as in the chemical industry.
